Recently we are out with the new vintage 2017. Warme year, wines not really ready to drink, but wines with high response with the feeling of vintage.

- The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva Caparsino is gorgeous, but it also needs at least a few years in the cellar to be at its best. Bright acids lend energy to this super-classic, structured Riserva. Deceptively light in structure, the 2017 packs a good deal of punch. Dried herbs, cedar, leather, tobacco and minthint as to how the Riserva will develop in bottle. Score 94

- Caparsa's 2017 Chianti Classicois an absolute joy to taste. Succulent dark red cherry, mint, game, licorice and spice all fleshout in this super-expressive Chianti Classico. Open knit and inviting, the 2017 has both the depth and structure to drink well for a number of years. It is a terrific effort from Caparsa and a real overachiever in its peer group. Score 92
